Great animation. Horrible story

I suppose I'm one of the few who just don't get it. The story is just way too emo, cheesey and overall awkward.

"Hi I just beat up your bodyguards because I didn't want to bow to you, lets run away together. Lets run around this back-alley at night. Here's a necklace, take care of it. Someone shot you? OH SHIT NOW I'M A DINOSAUR!".

This movie hardly deserves it's 1st place on Newgrounds, however, it does have good quality animation and alright camera veiws. What dissappoints me the most is that the setting in itself (post-nuclear Arabia) offers SO much innovation and originality in character and setting designs, however you hardly take any advantage of it. SO much could have been done with the characters to make them original and unique, especially the main characters, but both the Aladdin character and the princess look no different from anything you'd find in any other emo-themed anime-wannabe short. Another thing that really dissappoints me is how you skipped out on using any sound effects at all, with the excuse of having an alright-fitting soundtrack. Without any sound effects at all, it just comes off as a music video instead of a short with a meaningfull story (which wasn't present regardless).

If I had seen this as just a daily post, it would have recieved a 10 because I would have no expectations for it at all, and I see a lot of potential in you as a good flash animator. However seeing this as #1 on Newgrounds of all time, it's a huge dissappointment. A good theme and story should always be more important than the quality of animation, and I strongly encourage you to work harder on your story-telling (and please step away from the emo-ness!). I give this a 6.
